The suitable temperature for storage of peach fruits by low-temperature freezing method is minus 6°C-0°C and relative humidity 90%. Under these conditions, they can be stored for 14-18 days. Variable temperature treatment can also be used, that is, store at low temperature for about two weeks, then increase the temperature to 18°C, and then lower the temperature for storage after two days. Variable temperature storage can reduce the chilling injury of the fruit and prolong the storage life.
The controlled atmosphere storage method reduces the oxygen content in the air, increases the carbon dioxide content, prevents the aerobic respiration of the fruit in a closed environment, and achieves the purpose of delaying the nutrient consumption of the fruit. Generally, in an environment with 1% oxygen and 5% carbon dioxide, peach fruits can be stored for 6 weeks.
In the kiln storage method, peach farmers can choose this method without equipment, but the storage time is shorter.
