Peach pollination method in greenhouse

Although peach trees can be self-pollinated, cross-pollinated peach trees have high fruit setting rate, good quality, and high yield. In greenhouse cultivation, the possibility of cross-pollination is small because of poor air flow, low temperature, and high humidity in the greenhouse. Therefore, in the cultivation of greenhouse peaches, it is necessary to conduct pollination to improve the yield and quality of peach. The method of pollination is as follows:

First, artificial pollination

1. Anther collection. One to two days before flowering of the main cultivar, flower buds of the pollination type peach tree were collected. Open the bud, use the index finger of your right hand to gently place the anther onto a smooth paper and bake for 12 hours under an incandescent lamp at 40W. The anther should be 30-40 cm away from the bulb. Do not get too close to prevent the anther from burning too hot. Pollen deactivated. After the pollen grains spread out, place the anther in a clean and dry glass bottle, tie it tightly in a plastic bag, and store it in the freezer of the refrigerator (conditionally, it can be placed in a desiccator). The anthers are baked dry, otherwise the anthers in the bottles are very prone to mold inactivation.

2. Pollination method. Choose the blossoming flowers on the peach trees. From 9 am to 3 pm every day during the peach blossom period, use a clean soft brush or eraser on a pencil with rubber to take in the pollen and place it on the stigma of the flower.

Second, bee pollination

1. Put the number of bees. Generally, 1 to 2 boxes of bees are placed in a half a mu of sunlight greenhouse. The lack of bees will not allow each flower to be pollinated timely and normally, and the bees will also waste more bees and increase production costs.

2. Shelter time. One week prior to peach blossom, use the evening or night time to put the beehive in the greenhouse so that the bees can better understand the environment in the greenhouse.

3. Place the position. The beehive is placed in the middle of the greenhouse. If two bees are placed, the distance between the two beehives is about 10 meters and the things are placed side by side. The beehive is about 50 centimeters from the ground to prevent the beehive from getting wet.

4. Beekeeping management. After the pollination beehive is placed, do not open the nest door immediately. After 5 to 6 hours of bee colony stabilization, the beehive slowly opens a small mouth. The size of the small mouth is just enough to squeeze over two bees. Two days later, the bees gradually adapted to the environment in the greenhouse and they collected honey out of the box to pollinate peach trees.

5. Pay attention to the problem. When placing the bee, pay attention to the greenhouse to release the humidity during the day and cover the gauze at the outlet to prevent the bees from flying out. Before the application, the beehive should be closed, and the beehive should be temporarily moved outside, and then moved into the room every 3 to 4 days to avoid the death of bees due to pesticide application. When the beehive was put into the greenhouse, due to less peach blossoms and less nectar to meet the normal life requirements of bees, it was necessary to strengthen the feeding during this period. The sugar water and water can be blended in a ratio of 1:1 and cooled. Pour the solution into the feeding tank in the beehive, and put a few straw stalks in the tank to prevent the bees from accidentally drowning during feeding.
