Luxi Yak Feeding Management

The breeding and management of yaks directly affects the body structure and life-long production performance of sheep. Calves should eat colostrum half an hour after birth. If they cannot eat colostrum, they should be fed milk powder, supplemented with vitamins A, D, and E, especially when skimmed milk powder is fed. It is appropriate to feed 5 to 6 times a day. It is also possible to feed yoghurt yoghurt during the lactation period to enhance the constitution.
From the first week after birth, high quality hay was added to the grass frame of the yak bar and allowed to feed freely. 10 to 15 days after birth to start training concentrates. From the 20th day after the calf was born, a juicy feed was added to the mixed concentrate. Feed proper amount of silage from 2 months of age. Feeding ammoniated feeds should also be carried out at 6 months of age. Start supplying enough water for one week after birth.
Dairy cows can be fed with artificial milk and milk substitutes for early weaning. All yaks can be fed with milk substitutes and hay at the age of 3 months.
Luxi cattle attached great importance to bovine hygiene and clean and dry inside the circle. Yaks should be young enough to develop the habit of being close to keeping people and receiving brushing. General use soft brush, if necessary, supplemented with iron rake. Try not to brush the yak forehead and corners.
Yak 4 to 6 months old, fine material formula: corn flour 42%, bran 25%, bean cake 15%, dry granules 15%, calcium phosphate 0.3%, salt 0.2%, fish meal 2.5%, in addition to the daily supply of high quality Green and hay.
The yak barn should be smooth, sunny, well ventilated, cool in winter and cool in summer, and geologically high, avoiding overcast, cold, wet and dirty.
