How to choose the right sheep
Selection criteria and management. The selection criteria are generally strong in physique, good at walking; good feeding performance, obvious estrus symptoms, strong protection of nursery spirit; strong and healthy spirit. After buying the recipient sheep, the sheep should be tested for common infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and brucellosis as soon as possible. It is found that the positive sheep should be isolated and eliminated immediately, and the healthy sheep should be injected with the triple vaccine, at least before the embryo transfer. 1 month to complete the deworming work of the sheep.
Age and parity. The age of the donor sheep is 2 to 4 years old. Some production practices have shown that the parity of the recipient sheep has a greater impact on the effect of embryo transfer, and the fecundity of the ewe increases gradually with the increase of the parity. Generally, 3 fetuses and 4 fetuses are the periods during which the maternal fecundity reaches the maximum. Therefore, age and parity are also important factors to consider when choosing a sheep.
Ewe feeding
Empty period. The feeding and management of empty ewes is very important. If you keep a good physical condition all year round, then the ewe will maintain the best fertility, such as estrus, with high ovulation number and conception rate, high lamb birth weight, growth and development. Fast, high survival rate and strong lactating ability of ewes. However, due to the lack of pregnancy and lactation burden, empty ewe are often overlooked. One month to one and a half months before transplantation, raising standards for ewes should be raised, and low-energy, high-protein, vitamin-rich feeds should be fed, supplemented with sufficient minerals and vitamins for the recipient sheep. In addition, the recipient sheep should be fed a certain amount of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, and E. Feeding should be quantified regularly. Recipient sheep should be given plenty of clean drinking water, and the ewes with poor body condition should be given excellent feeding. .
Pregnancy. Recipients need to strengthen their rearing after pregnancy, especially in the last 2 months of pregnancy, to increase the ratio between concentrate and pasture in order to reduce the volume of feed in the abdominal cavity of ewes, because 90% of the birth weight of the fetus is In the late pregnancy (after 60 days) grown. In addition, feeds rich in minerals and vitamins should also be supplemented at this stage. Because whether it is the rapid development of the fetus in the abdominal cavity or the massive secretion of postpartum milk, the ewes are required to ingest large amounts of nutrients at this stage to meet the needs of their own and fetal growth and development. Therefore, this period is most likely to suffer from malnutrition. And in the period of about 1 week before delivery, nutrition standards should be appropriately reduced to prevent the fetus from causing too much trouble.
