However, B-ultrasound diagnosis also has its limitations and shortcomings. For example, B-ultrasound can not check the gas-containing organs (such as the lungs). It is not as practical and reliable as X-rays in the diagnosis of fractures and dislocations. The diagnostic range of B-ultrasound is also affected by the resolution of the probe. Restrictions, such as the spleen, pancreas, adrenal gland and other organs of dogs and cats, are small in size. It is difficult to observe abnormal changes with a low-frequency probe, and the penetration of the resolution (probe frequency) is reduced. At present, many problems of B-ultrasound diagnosis of small animal diseases are still under discussion. It is believed that with the improvement of instruments and equipment and the further development of relevant clinical and scientific research work, the diagnosis of dogs and cats will be on a new level.

Application of animal B-ultrasound in obstetric surgery

There are two situations in dystocia. First, it causes dystocia during childbirth, that is, the animal gradually delivers part of the fetus. After 12h or 24h, there is a birth position. B-ultrasound examination, according to the presence or absence of fetal heartbeat, it can be seen that some fetuses have died, and some fetuses are still alive. Such dystocia is more common in the cervix or vaginal opening, the fetus is too large or deformed. After the diagnosis of B-ultrasound, such cases should be taken immediately by caesarean section.

Application of animal B-ultrasound in gastrointestinal surgery

Gastrointestinal foreign bodies are one of the most common diseases of the digestive system. Foreign bodies can be divided into 4 types: high-density substances, such as bones, stones, glass balls, etc., which are easier to diagnose; medium-density substances, such as rubber stoppers, foams, etc., low-density substances such as cotton, thread Groups, sponges, plastic bags, etc., when such foreign matter is small, it is not easy to diagnose; slender objects, such as needles, fine wires, etc., are also difficult to diagnose. Under normal circumstances, the gastrointestinal tract is a gas-containing organ, and the gas-containing organs are not suitable for B-ultrasound examination. Because the ultrasonic waves are all reflected and cannot penetrate, the diagnosis cannot be performed. However, under certain conditions, if used properly, B-ultrasound is also an effective means of diagnosing gastrointestinal diseases. Allowing dogs and cats to drink water before the test can improve the penetration of ultrasound and enhance the contrast of the image, which is helpful for diagnosis. Sometimes it is difficult to distinguish between tissue and foreign matter in density, but foreign body causes intestinal obstruction, which leads to gastric emptying disorder. Reverse reasoning also helps to make a diagnosis. The B-ultrasonic machine determines the nature and location of the foreign body, so as to develop an effective surgical plan, which can greatly improve the success rate of the operation.
